Located on the high plains east of Colorado Springs and Falcon, Peyton began in 1888 as a small farm town with a few local storefronts. Today, the area boasts incredible views, large plots of land, and the privacy of country living. Close enough for great views of the Rocky Mountains and a hassle-free drive to the big city, Peyton provides the perfect balance of convenience and open space.

Extending from the edges of eastern Falcon to western Calhan, Peyton is located in the perfect spot to take advantage of all surrounding amenities. However, Peyton has its own charms to offer, as well. Jo's Rusty Bronco BBQ serves up the best barbecue on the Front Range, while Nana's Kitchen is open daily for breakfast and brunch. Haley J's Boutique sells locally-inspired women's clothing, and Frankie-Jean's Design Company provides plenty of interior decorating options for every home. Additionally Homestead Ranch Regional Park is a short drive away, offering trails for mountain biking, fishing areas, and hiking paths.

Students in the area are split between Peyton School District 12 and School District 49. Although Peyton is growing rapidly, District 49  is the fastest growing school district in El Paso County and works to foster academic, athletic, and social success through programs offered to all ages of students. Alternatively, the Pikes Peak School of Expeditionary Learning focuses on strong character, academic achievement, and social confidence in a charter school setting. Through the choice enrollment program, many of the schools in the rest of Colorado Springs are available to students from any neighborhood, as well.
