United States Air Force Academy (USAFA)

Located on the south side of the city, Fort Carson is known as "The Mountain Post." It is a major U.S. Army installation and home to the 4th Infantry Division.

Located adjacent to the Colorado Springs Airport, Peterson SFB serves as the headquarters for United States Space Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).

Located east of the city, Schriever SFB is the "Master Clock" for GPS and handles satellite operations for the Department of Defense.
