Running parallel to the Powers corridor, Marksheffel Road and the surrounding areas include new developments and open land just waiting for new homes to be built. The neighborhood stretches from Marksheffel Road in the west to Falcon in the east. Claremont Ranch is a newer neighborhood just north of Marksheffel Road and Highway 24. Although Banning Lewis offers more communal amenities, Claremont Ranch residents communicate through an online neighborhood association and enjoy plenty of nearby conveniences. A full shopping center was recently completed just to the north of the neighborhood. Retailers and services include King Soopers Marketplace and Fuel Center, Constitution Dental Group, Dickey's Barbecue Pit, and Glo Nail Spa. Additionally, both neighborhoods offer easy access to services available along Powers Boulevard, in Briargate, and throughout the entirety of Colorado Springs.

School District 49 serves the students living in the Marksheffel area. With the vision of being the best choice in public education, District 49 is the fastest growing school district in El Paso County and works to foster academic, athletic, and social success through programs offered to all ages of students. Alternatively, nearby charter schools include James Irwin Charter Schools, Imagine Classical Academy, and Rocky Mountain Classical Academy.
