Located east of Colorado Springs and south of Highway 94, these open spaces on the high plains offer stunning views and plenty of breathing room. Most homes in these divisions are less than an hour outside of Colorado Springs, and nearby towns such as Ellicott and Calhan are closer points for needed amenities.
Industries in the area include farming corn and alfalfa, as well as some cattle grazing ranch lands. However, due to the dryness of the region, the majority of agriculture is limited to crops such as wheat that thrive despite low rainfall conditions. Most residents who work locally have construction or maintenance jobs while many who live in the area commute to the Springs every day.
The region is served by Hanover School District 28 and Edison School District 54. Hanover District 28 holds the highest student scores in the area for all levels of language arts, and their high school students score higher on the ACT standardized test than any other nearby district. Edison District 54 has received a district-wide John Irwin Award, proving their students' exceptional academic achievement as the area has grown. Both school districts provide excellent education for all ages of learners.
